On the afternoon of August 6, QBPC had an online meeting with the Food, Drug & Environmental Crime Investigation Division of Shanghai Public Security Bureau (Shanghai FDECID) under Cross-Marketplace IPR Protection and Enforcement Mechanism (the Mechanism). Since the mechanism was established in April, QBPC members have been actively providing brand information, case data and leads. After preliminary analysis and investigation, Shanghai FDECID would hold regular follow-up meetings with QBPC. This online meeting discussed how to make full use of the mechanism on the basis of what had been achieved in the face-to-face exchange in mid-April.

The Head of Shanghai FDECID Yu Meng made the opening remarks, and QBPC Best Practices/Enforcement Committee Chair Conan Chen hosted the meeting. Representatives from member companies Procter & Gamble, Victoria's Secret, BeiGene, Cisco, GlaxoSmithKline, Hasbro, Momentive, Siemens and Tiffany shared their latest experience and talked about new trends and features of internet counterfeiting, difficulties and problems in criminal protection of intellectual property, and expectations for cooperation in cases. Yu responded to the members' questions and clarified on issues around implementation and optimization of the mechanism. Yu mentioned that additional police officers would be assigned as contacts for right holders in different industries. They would be able to better integrate relevant brand data and case leads from different industries.
