2021 QBPC Service Team Outstanding Contribution Award Acceptance Speech

Create Time:2021-12-16

Michael Ding - QBPC Chair (ABB)

As a volunteer working for QBPC, I am highly honored by the support and recognition of member companies. Sincerely I appreciate the close cooperation among service team members, the excellent operation of QBPC Office, the enthusiastic participation of members, the guidance and help of all stakeholders in IP community and the generous support by ABB in 2021! Look forward to working with you all for another successful year for QBPC in 2022!

Alvin Deng-QBPC Patent and Innovation Committee Chair (Novozymes)

I'm very happy to get this award. This is my first time to win an award outside the company;)

Somehow, I feel surprised and humbled since I did not expect members to give me such an important award. After all, there are many people in the service team who work very hard as well. Thanks to members for their recognition and trust!

Tao Yang-QBPC Government Affair and Public Policy Committee Chair and Artificial Intelligence and Digital IWG Coordinator (Microsoft)

“Honored” would be an understatement. Thank you QBPC and QBPC members for including me on the QBPC Service Team and naming me QBPC Outstanding Contribution Award in 2021 for both QBPC Government Affair & Public Policy Committee (GAPPC) and Artificial Intelligence & Digital (AI & Digital) IWG. I really appreciate the QBPC Service Team in particular GAPPC teams and QBPC Office for your professional competence, great leadership skills and supports. I am sure that with such a fantastic, highly motivated team, we will ensure we continue serving our QBPC members better. This is an honor, but also a trust and responsibility. Let’s roll up our sleeves to enable QBPC to play an even greater role as “Bridge & Ties” and achieve the next milestones together!

Alan Liu- QBPC Customs Committee Chair (Johnson & Johnson)

2021 was a tough year for QBPC Customs Committee as the opportunities to interact with customs officials were very limited due to the impact of epidemics. However, with the support of all members and QBPC office staff, we insisted on holding Customs Intellectual Property training online and offline, covering various industry working groups and most ports of high risks. In addition, in order to handle the challenges in Customs IPR Protection raised by members, we have actively cooperated with the General Administration of Customs and local customs at all levels, put forward constructive suggestions and reach a preliminary intent of cooperation on several projects. We expect that in 2022, we can effectively promote these projects to remove pain points of members and play a greater role in cross-border import and export IPR protection.

Angela Shi-QBPC Customs Committee Vice Chair (The LEGO Group)

I am honored to be recognized as “2021 QBPC TOP 10 Service Team Member”! It has been my great pleasure to work on a wide variety of projects and to serve QBPC members. Special thanks to the LEGO Group for fully supporting me to take this role. Look forward to more collaboration in the coming year.

Wu Jiayi-QBPC Chemical Industry Working Group Coordinator (DSM)

I sincerely thank QBPC for providing such a platform, allowing me to serve members as the coordinator of the industry group, and gain a lot of valuable suggestions and opinions from my peers. I feel surprised to receive this award, and I am afraid that I have not done enough. I will take this award as an incentive to do better in my future service! Finally, I would like to thank DSM for giving me full support!

Michael Yu-QBPC Legal Committee Chair (Unilever)

I am honored to receive the QBPC Excellent Service Award for the year 2021, which is not only a recognition from the QBPC members for my service, but also a recognition of the hard work of Legal Committee in the past year. In 2021, with the support of the QBPC office, Legal Committee has accomplished the following: First, closely followed the hot issues of IPR legislation, timely solicit the opinions of member enterprises and form the written proposal, so as to effectively convey the voice of QBPC; Second, organized several seminars on hot and difficult issues of civil litigation to provide member companies with experience and guidance on civil litigation management and evidence collection; Third, in view of the difficult problems in handling criminal cases, carried out research among members together with QBPC Best Practices/Enforcement Committee, drafted and submitted reports to relevant departments for their consideration, e.g. the influence of “Illegal Gain" and "Plea Leniency System". It is hoped that these sustained efforts will not only help to solve the short-term problems of member companies, but also contribute to the construction of the rule of law of intellectual property in China.

Miller Wang-QBPC luxury Goods IWG (MCM)

So honored to get such award, however, I think it is not for me, but it should be the one for all members in Luxury IWG

Luxury IWG made such an outstanding achievement just because

1. Most members were so active and enthusiastic to put up the hands

2. The warm support from John Groves (QBPC Vice Chair)

3. The always kind help from our Office Ladies

-just a personal proposal, in future, is it possible with such an Award to the Whole IWG?

Leon Lv - QBPC Government Affair and Public Policy Committee Vice Chair (Eaton)

QBPC is a member-driven industry organization, and serving its members is the purpose for which QBPC was founded and continues to exist. I am honored to be a member of QBPC service team. Even across various industries and companies, there are common issues in IPR protection. I am happy to share my successes and setbacks with other members. My volunteer work in Government Affairs and Public Policy Committee has been helped and supported by other service team members, members and colleagues from QBPC office. I would like to thank you all sincerely.

Actively participating in various activities of QBPC not only helps solve IP problems of your own company, but also broadens your horizons, keeps you abreast of legal developments and industry trends, improve your professional skills, get to know new industry peers and exchange knowledge and ideas with them. I also encourage more friends to actively participate in QBPC activities and contribute their wisdom and enthusiasm.

Being selected as an Excellent Service Team Member of the Year by members is both an incentive and a spur to me. I strive to do better in the future. Together with all members, I will pool wisdom and take positive actions to jointly protect intellectual property rights and achieve win-win results.
