QBPC Lighting IWG Exchanges with the Economic Crime Investigation Detachment of Fengxian Branch of Shanghai Public Security Bureau

On December 10, Lighting Industry Working Group (IWG) of Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (QBPC) held an exchange meeting with the Economic Crime Investigation Detachment (ECID) of Fengxian Branch of Shanghai Public Security Bureau. Deputy Detachment Leader Hu Jiahao and Food, Drug and Environment Crime Investigation Detachment Chief Zhou Feng warmly received the Lighting IWG coordinator Bob Zhang and other 7 IWG members.

 

Hu said that despite the impact of covid-19 in 2021, the ECID still made great achievements in IPR protection with the strong support of right holders. He also shared 2022 work plan and focus, and would further actively communicate with the procuratorate and the court to seek consensus on the current IPR hot and difficult issues. He looked forward to mutual support and deeper cooperation with enterprises.

Representatives from QBPC member companies Dyson, Hasbro, Nine United, Philips, Siemens, Signify and Zippo briefly introduced their brands, products and infringements against the brands. They also discussed in depth the current hot and difficult IP issues, mainly including the standard of prosecution of IP infringement crimes and the determination of illegal gains after the implementation of the amendment to the Criminal Law (XI), cross-border e-commerce and foreign jurisdiction, criminal crackdown on infringements through copyright, illegal processing and transformation of original products, etc. The ECID provided constructive solutions to the above issues.
