IPR Protection Exchange Meeting with Ningbo Leading Group Office and Ningbo Administration for Market Regulation

On the eve of the 23rd World IP Day and the first day of the National Intellectual Property Awareness Week (April 20, 2023), Ningbo Leading Group Office on Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting (Ningbo LGO), Ningbo Administration for Market Regulation (Ningbo AMR) and the Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (QBPC) jointly organized an exchange meeting on intellectual property protection in Ningbo City.

 

Shi Yunxing, Director of Ningbo LGO and Chief Captain of Ningbo AMR Law Enforcement Team, and Hu Zhan, QBPC Government Affairs and Public Policy Committee Chair, delivered keynote speeches on combating infringement and counterfeiting, protecting intellectual property rights, safeguarding rights and interests of brand owners, and optimizing business environment.

 

 

During his speech, Lin Zhi, Deputy Chief of Ningbo AMR Law Enforcement Team , introduced the team's achievements and key areas of law enforcement in recent years, as well as the overall work plan for 2023. The representatives of Eaton and Republic/MYC, QBPC members, also delivered speeches and shared typical cases on combating infringement and counterfeiting and protecting intellectual property rights.

 

Representatives from 10 QBPC member companies including the LEGO Group, Eaton, NBC Universal, Beiersdorf, Jaguar Land Rover, Castrol, Mattel, ABRO, WD-40, Republic/MYC, and officials from Ningbo AMR, Ningbo Customs, Ningbo Public Security Bureau Intellectual Property Detachment, Ningbo Intellectual Property Court, Ningbo Agricultural Law Enforcement Team and other IPR enforcement and judicial authorities had a lively discussion. Questions and suggestions were raised on the new features and trends encountered in IPR protection. Lu Qing, Director of the Intellectual Property Protection Division of Ningbo AMR, made a closing remark on the exchange meeting, hoping that right holders and law enforcement agencies would maintain frequent communication, exchange information, share experience and strengthen collaboration.

The exchange was aimed at strengthening the collaboration between the QBPC members and Ningbo LGO and relevant law enforcement departments, building a law enforcement and supervision matrix, establishing a long-term mechanism, forming a comprehensive force against IPR infringement crimes, realizing the whole chain protection of IPR, effectively protecting the legitimate rights and interests of domestic and foreign enterprises such as IPR, and further creating a good business environment that respects IPR and encourages innovation.

 

During the event, member companies of QBPC, including Eaton, ABRO, Luxottica, Adidas, Anta and CommScope, also set up booths for authenticity identification and product training to introduce product characteristics and the current situation of infringement and counterfeiting to the participants. Nearly 20 QBPC members participated in the exchange meeting.

 

The market supervision authorities of 10 districts, counties and cities under the jurisdiction of Ningbo Municipality and the relevant officials and law enforcement representatives of Zhoushan Administration for Market Regulation attended the event.
