On March 11, QBPC co-hosted a Pre-Summit Executive Education in partnership with A-CAPP. QBPC Chair Michael Ding and Vice Chair William Mansfield shared their insights about brand protection in China through successful case studies, and had an interactive exchange with the audience. They also introduced best practice and latest progress made in connection with bad faith trademark registration in China, various enforcement approaches available for brand owners, particularly the highlights of administrative enforcement actions. Michael said, “Once you have more knowledge about brand protection mechanism in China, you can find better ways to protect your brand. QBPC is definitely a great platform for legitimate brand owners to communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders, and facilitate more effective brand protection and drive innovation in China”.
In the following days, the summit will bring interactive discussions through panels, hot topic sessions, high top talks, and strategy sessions that focused on the four strategic themes of the A-CAPP Center including Impact of Technology, Online Sales, and Emerging Policy on Brand Protection and Anti-Counterfeiting, Consumers and Counterfeiting, Brand Protection Education for Current & Future Workforce, Global Impact of Counterfeiting. More than 200 guests registered in the event.
Interactions with A-CAPP and other international organizations build the bridge to communicate the efforts that QBPC has made in China to the international IP community while bringing back constructive comments. It is strategically crucial for QBPC to remain as an international communication bridge for IP-related matters between China and the rest of the world. QBPC will continue such efforts and work more closely with members and stakeholders in this regard.
