On May 10th, QBPC Chair Michael Ding and representatives of QBPC members visited Shanghai People’s Procuratorate and exchanged with the Twelfth Prosecution Department, i.e. the Intellectual Property Prosecution Department which was newly established.
Xie Fei, Director of the Intellectual Property Prosecution Department, introduced the organizational structure, portfolio, and work priorities of IP prosecution departments under Shanghai People’s Procuratorate. He said that the procuratorial work would focus on the comprehensive performance of four major IP procuratorial functions, play the connecting role in IPR protection, explore the optimal path of defending intellectual property rights and resolving intellectual property disputes. The two sides also discussed the issues of general concern to QBPC members and topics including the joint roundtable conference later this year.
