On the afternoon of September 5, the Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (QBPC) Internet Committee Vice Chair Charlotte Qu led QBPC members to visit Meituan, which was attended by 20 representatives from 18 member companies.
First of all, the IP protection team of Meituan introduced its full process merchant brand protection service mechanism as well as comprehensive prevention and control system in retail business, Meanwhile they also demonstrated Meituan’s proactive defense, dynamic monitoring, internal and external joint governance, and cooperative process of offline crackdown.
In the interactive session, the Meituan team provided detailed responses to questions raised by QBPC members, including the disclosure of information about infringers, administrative protection measures, offline store verification, store entry qualifications review, restrictions on the types or frequency of acceptable complaints, and specific punishment mechanisms. Finally, both sides agreed to communicating and cooperating in the future, with the goal of creating a healthier and more orderly e-commerce environment.
