On December 5, the Agricultural IWG of the Quality Brand Protection Committee of the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (QBPC) held a lunch meeting in Shanghai, which was moderated by IWG Coordinator Sam Fan. During the meeting, the participants exchanged and discussed the IWG work summary report for 2024, sharing their accomplishments, experiences, and insights in the past year.
The representatives held extensive discussions and agreed on action objectives concerning various issues, including the sharing and collaboration on information related to international pesticide counterfeiting cases, issues of illegal pesticide exports, responses to the exemption of the pesticide industry from the “Bolar Exception”, suggestions on strengthening treatment of illegal and unlicensed pesticide production activities, enhancing communication and cooperation with other domestic industry associations and peers, promoting clue sharing and case cooperation with law enforcement agencies, etc. IWG members would incorporate key issues into the 2025 work plan. Finally, the participants unanimously affirmed the positive role played by the QBPC as a platform for exchange and cooperation among IPR holders. They expressed their commitment to continuing to utilize the QBPC platform in the new year to enhance collaboration among IWG members and effectively promote IP protection in the agricultural industry as well as advancing anti-counterfeiting efforts related to agricultural materials.
