On December 5, QBPC successfully elected its 2025-2026 leadership team in Shanghai. After that, more than 100 representatives from QBPC member companies attended the December Membership Meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, QBPC Chair Michael Ding delivered a welcoming address and provided a summary of his six-year service. Following his remarks, the candidates for the leadership team presented their campaign speeches in succession. They outlined their professional backgrounds and previous accomplishments, articulated their understanding of the fundamental principles of the QBPC, explained their work plans for the year 2025, and engaged with members to receive valuable feedback. Ultimately, the meeting elected the 2025-2026 leadership team with Ying JI as the new QBPC Chair.

Hongying CAO, the Executive Vice President of CAEFI, spoke highly of the outstanding contributions of the leadership team headed by Michael. He acknowledged their selfless dedication and unwavering efforts. Furthermore, he expressed his congratulations to the new QBPC leadership team and looked forward to their achievements in future endeavors.

Subsequently, QBPC Vice Chair Kelvin Liu presided over the QBPC Membership Meeting. During this meeting, Yang TAO, the QBPC Vice Chair responsible for IWGs, along with the chairs of each committee, delivered detailed reports on the projects completed and the outcomes of the activities conducted in the 2024.

Over the past year, the 15 IWGs organized 20 activities featuring a variety of formats and a wide range of topics. These activities included customs training, IP salons, experience sharing sessions, and lunch meetings, all of which effectively promoted the exchange of experiences and encouraged collaboration within the industry.
In 2024, the QBPC Committees maintained strong momentum. The Best Practices/Enforcement Committee conducted six events and initiated a research project on best practices in IPR protection. The Customs Committee organized six training sessions for customs officials, significantly enhancing the operational capacity of relevant customs officers. Additionally, the committee submitted a position paper regarding the Customs Protection of Intellectual Property Rights Regulations to the General Operation Department of the General Administration of Customs (GACC). The Government Affairs and Public Policy Committee organized five events, including the 6th Dialogue on Administrative Protection of IPR of Foreign Invested Enterprises. They also provided the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) with the feedback on the Provisions on the Evidence of Trademark Administrative Law Enforcement (Draft for Comments). Meanwhile, the Internet Committee facilitated seven exchange visits, conducted two thematic seminars, and executed one research project. Focusing on legal practices, the Legal Committee hosted six seminars and released a research report titled “Guidelines for Administration of the Compliance of the Granting and Affirmation of the Trademark Rights of Enterprises,” which offers valuable compliance guidance for the industry. Furthermore, the feedback on the Calculation Method for Illegal Business Turnover in Trademark Infringement Cases (Draft for Comments) was submitted to the China National Intellectual Property Administration. Lastly, the Patent and Innovation Committee hosted twelve seminars to discuss pressing issues concerning the protection of patents and trade secrets.
Finally, QBPC 2024 Year-end Reception was hosted by QBPC Vice Chair Ying JI. Michael presented appointment certificates to the members of the 2025-2026 Leadership Team and awarded trophies to those members of the Leadership Team who received the 2024 Outstanding Contribution Award.
