On August 20, QBPC and Hong Kong Customs jointly held their first intellectual property protection training seminar. The meeting was moderated by Jessica Li of Victoria's Secret & Co., QBPC Customs Committee Chair. More than 100 officials from the Hong Kong Customs Investigation Division and the Port Division, and representatives from 20 QBPC member companies attended on-site.
Philme Lam, Divisional Commander of Intellectual Property Investigation Support, Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, spoke highly of the QBPC’s assistance in combating cross-border infringing activities while looking forward to more communication opportunities and platforms in the future to jointly strengthen brand protection and support Hong Kong’s construction as a regional intellectual property trading center.

Jessica said that by establishing a direct communication channel, right holders may actively cooperate with HK Customs in IP protection and anti-counterfeiting work, and both sides could better leverage their respective advantages.

Subsequently, representatives from Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, PUMA SE, Deckers, Moët Hennessy, Tiffany & Co., Colgate-Palmolive Company, Richemont International SA, Dyson, and Abercrombie & Fitch made presentations on their brands, products, and key points of counterfeit identification.
The seminar also set up the Product Authenticity Identification Display Booth to better assist officials in acquiring and utilizing relevant knowledge and promote interactive exchanges. Victoria's Secret, CHANEL, Ralph Lauren, Treasury Wine Estates, Beiersdorf AG, S. C. Johnson & Son, Olympus, Caterpillar, Cisco Systems (HK) Ltd. and HP Inc. also presented their products.
