On April 27, QBPC Internet Committee visited Meituan with 21 representatives from QBPC member companies. During the visit, the two parties discussed brand protection issues on the platform and laid the ground for further cooperation.
Meituan team introduced their main business lines and initiatives in brand protection to QBPC members. In additional to well-known food delivery and group buying services, Meituan also developed a variety of businesses in living services and retail, such as flash purchase, goods delivery, selection buying, and had formed a systematic brand protection mechanism with active prevention control, complaint response and batch investigation services. Meituan also worked closely with brand owners and continuously improved their protection mechanism.
Charlotte Qu, Internet Committee Vice Chair, thanked Meituan for their warm reception and hoped that through the exchange meeting, QBPC and Meituan could establish an interaction and cooperation channel to solve problems encountered in daily brand protection work together. Annick Wang, Internet Committee Chair, said that many brand owners still regarded Meituan as a takeaway-service-only platform and needed more communication to eliminate the information gap. She then introduced the key issues of concern from the members of the QBPC, laying the foundation for subsequent cooperation.
Chen Yang, Internet Committee Vice Chair, Lance Lu, Coordinator of the Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices IWG as well as other member representatives at the meeting also raised their concerns. Meituan replied that they would actively communicate and deal with issues related to brand protection, while the brand owners could file complaints through the right protection channel or contact Meituan directly.
Both sides agreed to schedule more exchange meetings for further communication and cooperation.
