On April 1, the Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (QBPC) Internet Committee and QBPC member companies’ representatives had an in-depth exchange and discussion with the Amazon brand protection team in Shanghai.

During the visit, the Amazon team introduced the online rights protection tools available on its platform, including Brand Registry, Project Zero, Transparency, etc. These tools were intended to protect brands through technology and collaboration with stakeholders. The Amazon team also detailed the experience of its international division, the Counterfeit Crimes Unit (CCU), in combating cross-border counterfeiting cases from online to offline, including domestic determination of offshore sales data and cross-border crackdowns in the scenario that there are people without goods.

The Amazon team provided detailed responses to questions raised by QBPC members about combating copyright infringement of art works, proactive prevention and control models for IP infringement, brand protection cooperation between Amazon teams in various countries, and cooperation with various law enforcement agencies. The two parties also engaged in in-depth discussions about trends and patterns of cross-border infringement, and how to protect brands and combat infringement more effectively.

Both parties agreed that they would continue to strengthen communication and cooperation in the future and make greater contributions to brand protection.
